Climate has been changing, as best we can tell, as long as there has
been life on earth. Creatures, whether Man or some other species, have
migrated to better locales as a way of improving their existence, or
escaping potential catastrophe .
The human inhabitants on this planet have historically adapted to their
surrounds or migrated. The humans currently on this planet are reluctant to
give up their landholdings, bricks and mortar and the like. Many seek to
change their environment, rather than adapt to it or move.
Climate change is real, and will forever be so.
Does Man contribute to climate change ? I believe humans do, but the big
question is ... to what extent.
Lets look at factors that effect climate change on this planet regardless of
whether creatures exist or not. These include :-
- Sunspots - bursts of energy higher than normal
- Earth's core cooling - changes in the crust and movement of tectonic
plates
- Volcanic activity
- Impact of objects from outer space
Possible factors caused by man include :-
- Deforestation
- Dams and water diversion
- Movement of Mass from one location to another including humans, all
forms of creatures and materials
- Damaging the Ozone Layer
- Over use of fossil fuels
What drives these factors attributed to man are simply summed up by two
elements :-
- Consumerism
- Population growth
Curbing these two elements effectively curbs man's impact on climate
change.
