Occasionally, objects from outer space "burn up" in our atmosphere or if large enough crash into sea or land surfaces.

Objects crashing into the sea do not visually have a much impact as those crashing into land. There are remnants of many craters caused by these objects all over the world. One can only assume that many tidal waves were caused by objects crashing into the sea. It is suggested that a meteor colliding with earth caused the demise of the dinosaurs.  Other species may have found their demise in a similar manner.

Ponder This  ...

• Are objects, whether burning up in the atmosphere or crashing to earth, increasing the effective mass of the planet ?

• Are these collisions altering our orbit around the sun ?

• If there is a change in the mass size of earth will this alter gravitational forces, and hence the orbit pattern ?

• What impact does this have on climate ?
