WHAT IS WELFARE

The term “welfare” provided by governments, replaces "charity" as it was known for thousands of years, being the act of providing for those who temporarily or permanently could not provide for themselves.

Charities, and charitable persons still exist, but governments in our society are the main providers and source of funding in the majority of cases.

Charity was not a “right” but relied on the compassion of benefactors to to provide for the needy.

A major issue with Taxpayers is their frustration of having to fund “entitlements” being paid to persons they believe are capable of providing for themselves, but choose not to.

Unfortunately there are those in the community who not only find ways to generate income for themselves, but rort the system as well.
